Krafton, the South Korean gaming company, has unveiled its first esports tournament, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021. This tournament, which spans over three months, commenced its registrations on July 19 and promises an impressive prize pool of ₹1 crore.
Tournament Overview
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 comprises five stages, offering a platform for players across India to demonstrate their skills on a grand scale. Krafton aims to foster an exciting environment for Indian gamers, signaling the onset of new content, collaborations, and esports tournaments in the country.
Qualifiers and Eligibility
In-game qualifiers for the tournament commence on August 2 and run until August 8. Eligibility criteria dictate that any player residing in India with a Platinum-ranked account or above can register and compete in the in-game qualifiers.
Collaboration with Tesla
Krafton has recently announced a collaboration with Tesla, the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer led by Elon Musk. This partnership introduces a unique feature allowing players to drive a Tesla Model Y within the game, complete with the experience of Tesla’s autopilot feature.
Gameplay Experience
Following an official update, players can venture into the Gigafactory within the game to witness the manufacturing process of a Tesla Model Y, from inception to completion. Subsequently, they can drive off in their newly acquired vehicle while experiencing the groundbreaking autopilot functionality present in all Tesla models.
Moreover, a self-driving Tesla Semi will make appearances on rural roads, autonomously following designated routes. Players can engage with the Semi, causing it to release supply boxes containing combat provisions upon sustaining damage.
