Launch Confirmation
Sources close to the matter confirmed to Business Insider India earlier this week that Asus plans to unveil a premium laptop on May 12. Now, it has been disclosed that the laptop in question is the ROG Flow X13. This ultraportable gaming laptop integrates gaming prowess into a sleek, lightweight 2-in-1 body with a 360-degree flippable touchscreen.
Features Overview
The Flow X13 made its global debut in January 2021, revealing its key specifications. Powered by AMD’s Ryzen 9 5980HS (top variant) mobile processor and complemented by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card, it offers robust gaming performance. Asus emphasized the use of AMD’s top binned CPUs to ensure superior performance with efficient power consumption.
Display and Design
Featuring a 13.3-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, the Flow X13 supports both touch and stylus input. The global variants offer a choice between a 1080p (Full HD) 120Hz or a 4K 60Hz display with adaptive sync support. Corning Gorilla Glass protects the display, ensuring durability.
The standout design feature is its 360-degree convertible capability, enabling seamless transitions between laptop and tablet modes. Moreover, its battery life is impressive, touted to last up to 18 hours, with approximately 10 hours of continuous video playback. The included 100W USB Type-C PD charger promises rapid charging, reaching 0 to 60% in around 39 minutes.
Pricing Speculation
Asus offers two configurations of the ROG Flow X13 in the US. The standard model, equipped with the 5900HS and a 120Hz, 1920×1200-pixel display, and the “Supernova” edition, featuring a 5980HS-based variant with a 3840×2400, 60Hz screen, both bundled with the XG Mobile. Pricing for the Supernova edition is approximately $3300 (Rs 2,44,475), while the standard model is around $2800 (Rs 2,07,434). Additionally, the laptop can be purchased separately (without XG Mobile) for approximately $1500 (Rs 1,11,125).
