Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED Review Performance and Lightweight Design

Asus recently introduced the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED, its latest mid-range offering in India, alongside the ZenBook S 13 OLED. Packed with features, the top-end variant boasts a Ryzen 7 5800H chipset, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB PCIe 3.0 SSD, and AMD Radeon graphics. Notably, its standout features include a 2.8K OLED display and a lightweight build.

Price and Availability

The VivoBook Pro 14 OLED is priced at ₹59,990 for the Ryzen 5 5600H variant and ₹69,990 for the Ryzen 7 5800H variant. Available in Solar Silver and Cosmos Blue, it can be purchased from Asus India, online retailers, and authorized retail stores nationwide.

Design

Sporting a minimalist design with a durable aluminum lid, the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED comes in Solar Silver and Cosmos Blue variants. Weighing just 1.4 kg and measuring 18.9mm in thickness, it fits seamlessly into a standard 14-inch laptop bag. The bottom of the laptop features nine vents for efficient airflow, maintaining optimal temperatures even during extended gaming sessions.

Display

The laptop boasts a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 16:10 aspect ratio, and HDR support. With slim bezels and 85% screen-to-body ratio, it offers vibrant colors and accurate DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, reducing eye strain during prolonged use.

Keyboard and Trackpad

Featuring an edge-to-edge backlit keyboard, the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED includes a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button for convenient unlocking. While the keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience, the absence of a number pad may pose a challenge for users requiring frequent numeric input. The laptop’s large trackpad ensures smooth navigation but lacks a dedicated number pad.

Performance

Available in AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and Ryzen 5 5600H variants, the laptop handles multitasking effortlessly. Equipped with Radeon Graphics, it can run games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds smoothly on low settings. However, AAA titles or high-resolution gaming may not deliver optimal performance.

Battery Life

With a 50 Whrs battery, the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED offers 7 to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge, supported by 90W fast charging capability for quick replenishment.

Verdict

The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED impresses with its feature-rich design, vibrant display, and lightweight build. While its performance meets mid-range expectations, the absence of a dedicated graphics card, number pad, and USB Type-C port may be limiting factors for some users.
