Xiaomi has launched HyperOS, its latest interface for smartphones and tablets in India, aiming to enhance user experience and performance. Here’s what you need to know about HyperOS, including eligible devices, features, and rollout schedule.
Overview of HyperOS
HyperOS is set to replace MIUI on eligible Xiaomi devices, promising improved performance, optimized storage usage, enhanced personalization options, and more. The rollout of HyperOS will begin with the Xiaomi 14 on March 7, with all future devices from Xiaomi launching with HyperOS.
Performance and Storage Enhancements
HyperOS boasts several performance improvements, including a 14% reduction in average response delay for critical tasks scheduling and a 16% decrease in task switching delay. Additionally, users can expect a 17% reduction in message delivery delay. In terms of storage, HyperOS occupies significantly less space compared to MIUI 14, with storage reduced from 12.53GB to 9.14GB. Furthermore, OTA storage occupancy has been slashed by 79%.
Personalization Features
With the HyperOS update, users gain access to a variety of personalization options for the lock screen and home screen, allowing customization to suit individual preferences. The control center has been revamped for easier device management, including the addition of a new media player widget in the notification screen. HyperOS introduces a new system font called MiSansGlobal, supporting over 600 languages, 1 lakh glyphs, and 20 writing systems. Additionally, the floating window feature has been redesigned to facilitate multitasking, enabling users to view multiple applications simultaneously.
